Planning a wedding is über stressful — just ask any bridezilla. But nothing quite takes the wedding cake like a tuxedo somehow ending up in an entirely different country than the person wearing it — and that's exactly what happened to one groom when Delta Airlines allegedly lost his luggage somewhere along the way to his destination wedding in Iceland.

A friend of the bride shared the story (and the suit-free wedding day photo) on on Reddit, with the caption "If you want to wind up in the same country as your wedding outfits, don't fly Delta Airlines." And the photo says it all: a groom was forced to downgrade to an "I woke up like this" casual look that's basically his boxer briefs and a white t-shirt with the message "This wedding suit courtesy of Delta Airlines" written in Sharpie. I mean, you could have used the Sharpie to at least draw a tie?!

This whole debacle reportedly started when the couple missed a connection from Washington D.C. to Iceland, and were reportedly rerouted from Paris to Berlin before ending up at their wedding destination. Somewhere along the way their luggage went on its own vacay, and was eventually found in Frankfurt (who even knows why?). While the Reddit poster claimed Delta had blamed a partner airline and "washed their hands" of the situation, Cosmopolitan.com reached out for comment, and a Delta spokesperson said they'd reached a "resolution" with the couple. The statement in full:

"Unfortunately, we were not able to provide the customers with their items in time for their special day. We have reached out to them, offered an apology, and reached an amicable resolution."

Other commenters on the Reddit post were quick to defend Delta also — "I mean, it sucks," one user wrote, "but if I were traveling to my wedding and had to have a certain outfit, I would either carry it on with me or ship it ahead of me." Another agreed, saying, "Yes, why would you check your wedding clothes if you are flying to your own wedding? A tux can easily fit in a carry on bag." (Well yes, but you can always end up having to check that at the gate anyway.)

The only solution for this problem, clearly, is to show up for the flight in full wedding-day attire — and hey, maybe it'll land you an upgrade also!
